Don't you forget about me

I am so afraid of the keyboards in the Simple Minds song “Up on the Catwalk.”
Their sound is not grounded in the reassuring present. Rather, they gather some strange mix of harmony and disharmony from a future I have yet to judge.
But the fucking drums kick ass. I think I feel the same way about the entire album, Sparkle in the Rain. It's not exactly Iggy and the Stooges, but it does borrow heavily from Lou Reed. With a not unpalatable keener sheen.
While I love Jim Kerr’s lyrics and baritone emotiveness, I find it difficult to not be afraid for the future after listening to it. It was recorded in 1984 and sounds as if it was the last recording of music ever made.
