Special Topics in Calamity Physics

The best first 175 coming of age pages I’ve dug into since Mona Simpson’s Anywhere But Here (Paperback, 1st Vintage contemporaries ed. Pub. Date: December 1987.) Not even half way through and I’m enthralled. I’ll admit, it might have something to do with the author’s photo on the back cover. Or maybe it’s her projected encyclopedic knowledge of all things literature. Regardless, it’s a fucking lucid flashback, but with intrigue. Buy it. Read it with minimal interruption. Love it. See yourself in it. Again, only 175 pages into it…
